Mainly used as an emulsifier on pesticides, it is also a good finishing agent, defoamer, detergent, dispersant, emulsifier, softener, dyeing assistant, fiber oil agent, crude oil demulsifier, etc. in the textile industry.
Among alkyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether (APEO), nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (NPEO) has the highest proportion, accounting for over 80%; Next is octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (OPEO), accounting for over 15%; Dodecyl polyoxyethylene ether (DPEO) and dinonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (DNPEO) each account for about 1%.
APEO has excellent wetting, permeation, emulsification, dispersion, solubilization, and washing effects, and is widely used in industries such as detergents, personal care, daily chemical, textile, papermaking, petroleum, metallurgy, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, printing, synthetic rubber, synthetic resin, plastics, etc.
Textile additives
The pre-treatment aids in textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, such as scouring agents, wetting agents, and penetrating agents, require good wetting and permeability. Early on, these additives had low requirements for alkaline resistance, and almost all of these products contained APEO. For example, BASF's LeaphenU is a composite of APEO, AEO (alkyl polyoxyethylene ether), and AS (alkyl sulfonate). In order to improve the permeability of enzyme products to fibers in applications, there is also a certain amount of APEO in enzyme products. For the same reason, APEO is often used in dyeing and printing process formulas. Printing paste, adhesive, coating adhesive, film, amino silicone oil, waterproof agent and other products are widely used, but APEO is used as an emulsifier in the manufacturing or emulsification of these products. For example, lotion polymerization printing adhesive requires APEO and AEO as emulsifiers; When amino silicone oil is used to make lotion, 50% of amino silicone oil shall be added with various EO (ethylene oxide) APEO as mixed emulsifier. After drying and fixing on the fabric, APEO will also stain the fabric. Detergents and soaping agents are a type of auxiliary agent that is widely used in printing and dyeing factories, and this type of auxiliary agent also uses a large amount of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) and APEO for compounding. When dyeing, leveling agents containing APEO are also used as dye dispersants.
